Novels and notable literary works
Over the past few years I've jumped (and sunk) ships concerning different writing projects. I first started on my series I call Doubleshear. The first book being Doubleshear - Win The Game, Take The Skys.As of now, May 26th 2010, I've written the first and almost done with the second books in the Doubleshear series. I only have to finish editing them before they're published. Unfortunately, I get side-tracked and write other works ( and programs as that is my other ocupation ) such as poetry and other short stories. You can read short stories I've written in the link above. Anyway, here's some excerpts from the Doubleshear series, below..
Chapter 1 ( also known as "Transfer The Package" )
The auditorium lights dimmed to a dull yellow, leaving a spot light on the speaker. Everyone in the endless rows seemed to be intently focused on this character, even though from my seat his words were almost inaudible. It was all respect. But I was not here to listen to a scientist boast about his latest discovery or invention, even though it may be interesting enough. I was assigned to arrive here by The Free Skiers Union to assassinate an Agency scientist by the name of Techrovich, who's last name was beyond me. Responsible for the destruction of nearly forty one Free Skiers airships, and crew, I did not feel the guilt the average person would. He sat in the second to first row, with his bald head sticking above the chair. I removed my weapon, to what appeared to be a simple ball point pen. But, upon clicking it, a canister of compressed air would be silently released, propelling the projectile, a poison dart, at decent speed to the victim. I took the pen in my right hand, and sat my hand on the chair in front of me, and held the pen in mid air, as if I was thinking deeply. On The Doubleshear, my airship, I had practiced for days to perfect my aim. I clicked the pen, and felt the slight recoil. I saw the small target stick itself into the scientist's ear. Almost a miss. He silently fell back into his seat. Next he would fall asleep, and his heart and breathing would quickly slow. I clicked the pen a few more times, to appear casual, then shoved it into my shirt pocket. I then stretched my arms, a clue for Goldberge, who sat a row behind me, to get ready to leave. He met me at the end of the row of people, and exchanged silent glances. He winked at me with his left eye, and itched his chin. Code for question. I knew his question, job done? I returned the left wink, as odd as it was, code for mission completed. He scratched his hair as we walked up the isle. No small detail was left unstudied. Meaning I have to pickup a package. I shook my head, meaning I already had prepared the arrangement, which I had. We approached the exit door for the auditorium, blocked by a pair of guards.
Chapter 1 ( also known as "Introduction" )
The rusted panel bent resentfully as I drilled the four remaining screws into their formidable home. It was a vent for the engine. One of the four five hundred horse power engines aboard my airship, The Doubleshear. The sun's rays seemed to stroke the side of the hull, as if it was a beast that required tendering. The wind weaved off the sentry covered mountains and through the blades of dead grass that dwelled in the reflected shadow of the airship's enormous hull.
